Knee arthroscopy is a minimally invasive surgery using a small camera (arthroscope) and surgical tools to diagnose and treat knee problems. It allows surgeons to view the inside of the knee joint without a large incision. This procedure is commonly used for conditions like torn meniscus, ligament damage, and cartilage damage. Dr. Sumko performs knee arthroscopy for debridement of meniscus tears and cleaning up cartilage damage. This is a less invasive surgical procedure done before total knee arthroplasty. Dr. Sumko will discuss x-ray imaging as well as MRIs to see if you are a candidate.
